September Ride - New Awesome Loop Level 4

What: We have a new loop so come and give it a go if you dare. We do ride on a couple of 3000 - 3999 Vicroads coded roads so rego is essential and licence is recommended.
Where: Peppin Point Holiday Park into the Strathbogie Ranges and back.
Start: Meet at the Rotunda.
When: 10.30am Saturday4th September 2010
Skill Level: 4 (Easy=level 1, Medium = level 3, Hardest = level 6)
Cornerman System: Required for four bikes or more.
Backup ride: No backup, unless otherwise requested.
Cost: For Accomodation and meals package see www.peppinpoint.com.au
Requirements: Must bring your own bike with at least rec rego plus all your gear and fuel.
Disclaimer: Motorsports are dangerous. I will show you where to go, you do it yourself and at your own risk to yourself and equipment. There could be dust, mud or snow, luck of the draw so dress appropriately.

Strictly no riding in Peppin Point Holiday Park, push out and push in unless actually on a Dirty Doonies ride and following the lead rider at a maximum speed of 5kph.

We have been out in the Bogies searching for some new tracks and have come up with a ripper loop that should keep everybody entertained so get on up to the Doon and see what all the fuss is about.
There will be a post ride BBQ and fireworks after dark for your entertainment.
So make sure your fuel tank is full and bike is well maintained as it is a long push back.
Ride registration forms are available at Peppin Point Holiday Park Reception and must be signed by each rider.

Sounds like another great ride Dave. Good to see that you don't ride in the park. There are plenty of great fire trails out there. Just wondering, do you restrict numbers? Also, are you really doing this for free? Sounds too good to be true.

Riders pay Peppin Point Holiday Park direct for accomodation and meal packages starting at $100 per person and ride for free but you have to stay in the park to ride.
Maximum of 20 bikes on the monthly rides but next year we will do a 300KM annual ride on a set trail for up to 100 bikes but it will be a different format ride.

Well another Dirty Doonies ride has been run and won.
Numbers were down due to poor weather conditions but we still got two 110km loops in over two days where we saw heavy rain, wind and snow but it did not dampen the spirits of the remaining brave riders.
The KTM boys (Wes and Dave) both had spills on the mountain and Scott was a victim of a very slippery lake bed injuring his shoulder putting him out of Saturdays ride, which was in ideal conditions and thanks to a great crew putting us around the loop in under four hours leaving plenty of time for some well earned beers at the Bonnie Doon pub thanks to Kano.
After arriving back at Peppin Point we all got cleaned up and head down to the rotunda for a post ride BBQ thanks to Terry, Scott and the Doonie Girls that went into the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Scott, JB and I will be searching for some new tracks over the coming weeks for a new loop early August.

Cheers
Dave

great ride to start off the dirty doonies season. as a first time dirty doonie, i didnt find anything particually hard about the ride, just tiring and a little bit challenge. Highly recommending anyone with a bike to get on board and come check out, what they're missing out. Catch dave, the boys & myself on the trails. Until next time, JB.

Went up thursday night with Dave and had a pizza at the pizza shop in Yea. Good pizza stoppin there next time. Had some pizza and a few drinks got up Friday morning put the fire place in my friends hut and got some firewood for the weekend, geared up for the ride, went out with the 2 Dave's and Scotty had a great ride only fell off once I was bloody cold I will choose different apparel next time. Had a big feed next to the big fire and had a good nights sleep. Saturday was a beautiful day took off in great weather, the ride went really well, no flats, no yamaha breakdowns (ha ha), no injuries, got back early enough to have a feed around the fire and a yarn with the boys about the ride. Cheers. Wez.

Dave,
Again another well organized ride, for me great conditions, It's a shame that Scotty had a spill on Friday but hey shit happens.Wes was to up the challenge of riding sweep on the Saturday and did a great job considering he had no local knowledge of the loop. JB riding a new WR did well, the boys from Pakenham all rode well too, the ride might have had a few road sections but we all needed the rest to go hard on the open track and some what knarly hill climbs. On Day one Wes and I had some good spills that would have been great to been have caught on helmet cam. To anyone out there having thoughts (troubles)finding a safe enviroment to ride or having a great team to ride with all I can say is get on board.
The cost for accomidation and a ride also a meal is very $$ economical considering the work that has to go in to make it happen.

I offer my assistance and time to Dave and Scott in there endeavours to find new country for all to explore.

Before I forget,
Kylie and Dave
Thanks for your hospitality over the trip, Really appreciated and will be remembered.

Best Regards.....
